Jayalakshmi Stores

We have been at Jayalakshmi Stores for a long time now. Our shop is at 40 Sandiyappan Street, right in the heart of Otteri. Chennai can be very hot and humid, so we keep the fans going all day while we work. It’s a typical local store where people from the street come to get what they need. We don't use fancy systems or have big advertisements. We just know the people who live around here in Otteri. Our address is easy to find if you are familiar with the 600012 area. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside sometimes because we try to stock as much as possible for our customers. From early morning until we close at night, it's mostly just us handling the counter and stocking the bins. We've seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own houses now. That's the nice thing about being on Sandiyappan Street for so long. It isn't a massive supermarket, just a local place where we do our best to stay organized. Sometimes things get a little messy when a big delivery comes in, but we sort it out. We don't really have a grand plan, we just want to keep the shop running and serve the folks in the neighborhood. It’s just how we live and work here in Chennai. It’s simple and it works for us.
