Gowri Store

Gowri Store is located at number 1, 1St Street in Subramaniapuram. It’s right at the beginning of the road, so it’s hard to miss if you’re coming into the area. We’ve been here for a while, and the building itself is nothing too modern. It has those old-style shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. I spend a lot of time on a small stool reaching for things that people want from the top rows. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main junctions, but we still get plenty of folks walking by. We mostly deal with the families living right here in the colony. They come in for small things, maybe a packet of biscuits or some washing powder they forgot to buy elsewhere. The lighting inside is a bit dim in the back corners, but we know where everything is kept. It’s just the way the shop was built years ago. We don’t do any big advertising or anything. People just know we are here at the corner. Usually, there’s a bit of a rush in the evenings when people are coming home from work. We stand behind the counter and chat a bit, mostly about the weather or the local news. It’s just a normal neighborhood shop. We keep things simple and try to make sure the staples are always on the shelf when someone needs them in a pinch.
