Deepa Rajaraman Grocery Shop

Deepa Rajaraman Grocery Shop is a small place located at 29, Puthur Village. We have been here for a good while now, serving the people who live right on this street and the ones nearby. It is a very simple shop. We keep the basics like rice, sugar, different kinds of dal, and some spices. We also have some small household things that people might run out of suddenly. The shop is part of our daily life. We open up early and usually stay open until it gets dark. It is not a place with bright lights or big signs. We just have the items set out in jars and sacks. Most of our customers are our friends and neighbors. We spend a lot of time chatting across the counter while we weigh out the goods. It’s a slow pace of life here in Puthur. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when there aren't many customers and watch the goats go by. We don't aim to be the biggest shop around, just a reliable one where you can get what you need for dinner. We keep a notebook for the accounts and try to keep everything in order. It is a bit cramped inside with all the bags, but it feels like home to us. We just keep doing what we do every day and hope the village stays happy with our little shop.
