Our office is situated right by the Marathakkara signal on NH 47, which means we hear the trucks rolling by at all hours. It is a practical space where we spend most of our time looking at plans and working through technical details. We have a few desks pushed together and plenty of paper stacked up in the corners. Engineering isn't always as clean as it looks on a computer screen; there is a lot of back and forth and checking things twice. Being near the highway makes it easy for people to find us, though the parking can be a bit tight when the signal is red. We drink a lot of coffee to stay focused during the long afternoons when the heat builds up. The walls are mostly bare except for some calendars and a few old project photos. We don't have a receptionist or anyone like that, so if the phone rings, whoever is closest just picks it up. It is a small team, and we have been in Marathakkara for some time now. We deal with a lot of local regulations and site requirements, which keeps us busy enough. Sometimes we are out in the field, but usually, you can find us here, staring at blueprints and trying to make the numbers work out. It is a quiet kind of work compared to the chaos of the road right outside our front door.
