Our location is over in Thrissur East, specifically at Jacky George Lavanya on Puthenvettuvazhi. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say if you aren't from around here, but the locals know the way. Kerala has a way of being very green and peaceful, and even though we are a bank branch, things feel a bit slower than they might in a big city like Mumbai or Delhi. We spend our mornings dealing with the mail and getting things ready before the doors open at ten. There is usually a small group of people waiting outside if the weather is nice. We deal with all sorts of people, from farmers to small shop owners from the nearby market area. The office is kept simple because we don't see the point in having anything too grand. It's just a functional space with enough room for the staff and the customers who come in to deposit or withdraw their money. Sometimes the rain in Thrissur can get quite heavy, and then the office feels even smaller as people huddle inside to stay dry. We just keep our heads down and get through the ledgers and the digital entries. Being part of the community in this part of Thrissur means we see the same faces every month. We don't really do much else besides the regular banking work, and that's how we like to keep it for everyone involved in the daily runnings of the branch.
