Frndz Pictures is based out here between Irinjalakuda and Chalakudy. We’re a small group that just likes taking photos and videos of life. It started as a hobby for a few of us, and then it just turned into this business over time. We do a lot of weddings because people around here love a big celebration. Most of our gear is kept in bags ready to go at a moment's notice. The office is mostly just a place for us to sit at the computers and look at the shots we took. Editing takes forever, though. Sometimes we sit there until late at night just trying to get the colors to look right on the screen. People come in to ask about our dates, and we check our old notebook to see if we are free. We don’t use any fancy booking software. It’s mostly word of mouth for us. If someone liked the photos from their cousin's wedding, they call us. We spend a lot of time traveling on the roads between Chalakudy and the surrounding villages. The weather can be a problem for outdoor shoots, especially when it pours. We’ve had to run for cover with our cameras more than once to keep them dry. It’s a fun job though, seeing people happy on their big day. We aren't trying to be the biggest studio in Kerala. We just want to take decent pictures that families will keep on their walls. That’s why we named it Frndz Pictures because that is how it all began.
