Amulya Sea Foods

Amulya Sea Foods is our operation over at C-97 in the Sipcot Industrial Complex. Being in an industrial complex means things are always moving, with trucks coming in and out at all hours. We handle seafood, which is a very time-sensitive business. We have to make sure everything stays cold and fresh, so our facility is full of freezers and ice machines that never seem to stop humming. It’s a wet and cold environment, and the staff here are used to wearing heavy boots and warm jackets even when it’s boiling hot outside. We get our supplies early, often while the rest of the city is still asleep. There’s a lot of cleaning and sorting involved before any of the seafood is ready to be sent out. We don't have much of a front office; most of our space is dedicated to processing and storage. We’ve been at this Sipcot location for several years now and we’ve gotten to know the other business owners nearby. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy packaging. We just focus on getting the product out to the markets and shops that need it. It’s a lot of manual labor and long hours, especially during the peak seasons. We just keep our heads down and make sure the quality is what it needs to be. It’s a basic, honest way to make a living, and it keeps us plenty busy.
