Our branch of Larsen&Toubro Limited is situated at 38, Type-4, in the Harbour Estate of Tuticorin. Being so close to the coast, you can always smell the salt in the air and feel the sea breeze, though it gets incredibly hot and humid most days. The Harbour Estate is an industrial kind of place, so it feels very appropriate for the kind of work we do. There are ships coming and going, and a lot of heavy machinery moving around the area. Our office is a simple one, built for function rather than style. We spend our days coordinating various aspects of our projects, often dealing with the logistics of being near a major port. The people working here are a hardy bunch who are used to the coastal climate and the steady pace of work in Tuticorin. We don't have any of those modern office perks you see on TV; we just have our desks, our computers, and a lot of work to get through. Most of us have been here long enough that the sounds of the port are just background noise now. It’s a straightforward life where we come in early, do our bit for the company, and head home. We like being in the estate because it keeps us close to the action. It’s not a glamorous spot, but it’s where we belong and where we get the most done for our clients in this part of Tamil Nadu.
