Krishnan Sugars

We have been here at Palani Bazaar for a while now. Most days it’s just us moving bags around and making sure the sugar is stacked right. Krishnan Sugars is right in the middle of Devastanam, so it gets pretty crowded outside with all the people coming through the market. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit messy around the entrance but we just sweep it out and keep going. My father started this and now we just handle the daily stuff like checking the weights and talking to the people who come in for their monthly supply. It isn’t a fancy place. We have a few old chairs and a desk that’s seen better days. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but who has the time for that when there are orders to fill? You’ll usually find me or one of the guys at number 42 just looking over the stock. We don't really do big ads or anything like that. People just know we are here. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy sacks and making sure nothing gets damp. The heat can get pretty bad in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running full speed. It’s just a normal shop doing what it does every day. We see the same faces every week, which is nice. Just a simple business in a busy street that stays focused on getting the work done without much fuss or bother.
