Our location is at Number 9 Great Cotton Road, inside the Municipal Building. It’s an old, sturdy place with thick walls and high ceilings that keep the heat out quite well. Being in a government-owned building means there is always a lot of foot traffic in the corridors, with people heading to different offices for various reasons. Our own space is fairly basic. We have a couple of heavy wooden desks and some steel cupboards for the files. It isn't the kind of place that would look good in a magazine, but it’s where we do our work every day. The view from the window is mostly just the busy road and the tops of other buildings. Great Cotton Road is always moving, and you can hear the horns and the buses all day long. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, which is pretty much the most high-tech thing we have besides our computers. There isn't any formal dress code or anything like that here. We just wear what’s comfortable and get on with the business. Sometimes the stairs feel a bit steep at the end of a long day, but we like being in such a central part of town. It’s an honest sort of place where we just handle the day-to-day requirements without any fuss or fancy overheads. It works for us and our small team in this historic spot.
