Fowziya Super Market

Fowziya Super Market is a small part of the community here in Kayalpatnam. Our shop at number 56 is usually filled with the smell of spices and the sound of the ceiling fans clicking overhead. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to fit as much variety as possible into a small space. We have bags of pulses, rows of cooking oils, and all the usual things families need for their daily meals. The floor is old tile that has seen better days, and the shelves are a mix of wood and metal that don't quite match. We don't bother with fancy lighting or music. People come here because they know we have what they need and we are right around the corner. We spend a lot of time just restocking the bins and making sure the prices are marked clearly. Sometimes the salt air from the coast makes things a bit sticky, so we are always cleaning the counters. We know most of the kids who come in for sweets after school. It’s a simple life running a grocery store in a town like this. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the flashiest place around. We just want to stay open, keep the shelves full, and help our neighbors get their shopping done without any fuss. It’s just us doing what we know how to do.
