Vijay Dental Clinic

Down here in Varkala, things move at a slightly different pace. Our clinic is over in the Maithanam area of Trivandrum. It’s a busy little spot, especially with the market nearby. People come in from all over the town when they have something bothering them. We’re not a big hospital, just a local dental clinic. The room is usually filled with the sound of the fan and maybe some chatter from the street outside. We handle the usual things like fillings and cleanings. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes a tourist walks in because they got a toothache while on holiday, and we help them out too. Most days it’s just the locals we’ve known forever. We try to be honest about what needs doing. If a tooth can be saved, we save it. If not, we tell them. It’s a small team here, so we all do a bit of everything, from answering the phone to cleaning up the surgery room. Varkala is a nice place to work, even if it gets hot in the afternoons. We just keep the windows open or the AC on and keep going. It’s a simple life. We don’t have fancy brochures or a big website. We just do the work and hope people feel a bit better when they leave. Sometimes the kids are scared of the chair, so we talk to them until they feel okay. It's all part of the daily routine.
