About Rijas-Photography – Photography in Thiruvananthapuram
I’ve got my photography setup here in Trivandrum, right near the Axis office. It’s a decent spot, though finding parking can be a bit of a nightmare during the middle of the day. The studio isn’t huge, but it’s got enough room for my cameras, some lights, and my computer where I spend way too many hours editing. My desk is usually covered in memory cards and lens caps that I forget to put back in my bag. I started doing this because I liked taking pictures, and now it’s just my daily life. I spend a lot of time out at weddings or events around the city, but this is where I come back to do the hard part of the work. It’s not a polished gallery or anything fancy. It feels more like a workshop. There are cords everywhere and sometimes the coffee mugs pile up when I’m working on a big project. People from around the neighborhood know where to find me if they need some photos taken. I don’t really go in for those big fancy speeches about art. I just try to take photos that look right and make people happy when they see them. It’s a lot of manual work, carrying heavy gear and standing on my feet for hours, but it’s what I do. Being near the Axis office makes it easy for people to describe where I am.
