Being at the Attukal Shopping Complex in the Fort area means we are always right in the middle of everything. It’s near the Padmanabha Swami temple, so there are always crowds and a lot of life around us. N J Creationz Photography started because we liked taking pictures and wanted a place to do it as a living. The East Fort area is iconic in Thiruvananthapuram. You see all kinds of people passing through the shopping complex. Some are tourists, others are locals doing their daily shopping. Our space is functional. We have our cameras and some backdrops and the computers we use for editing. It can get pretty loud outside with the buses and the people, but inside we just focus on the shots. Sometimes the light in the complex isn't great, so we've learned how to work with what we have. We don't have a big corporate team. It's just a few of us who know our way around a lens and a tripod. We spend a lot of time talking to people who come in, trying to understand what they need without making it all sound complicated. The temple being so close gives the whole area a specific feel that you don't get elsewhere. It’s a mix of tradition and the busy pace of the city. We’ve been at this for a bit now and we just take it one day at a time, making sure we get the work done right for whoever walks in.
