Asianet Communications Ltd.

Our office is part of the Asianet Complex over in the Puliyarakonam area. It’s right by the post office there. We’re technically in the Trivandrum area but near the Idukki district border, so we get a bit of weather from both sides. The complex is a big place, and it’s usually buzzing with people coming and going. We have a lot of cables and screens everywhere. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. The hills around here are beautiful, especially after it rains, though the dampness isn't great for the equipment. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting and talking to people on the headsets. It can get a bit stressful when things go down, but we just buckle down and fix it. There is a small canteen nearby where we get most of our meals, and that’s where all the gossip happens. We aren't trying to be some high-tech giant; we’re just people working in communications in a part of the country we like. Some of us have been here since the building was first put up. The commute can be a bit long for those living further out in Idukki, but the drive is nice. We keep the windows shut mostly because of the insects, so it stays a bit stuffy inside. It’s just a regular workplace where everyone knows each other’s names and how they take their tea. We keep a box of spare parts in the corner that nobody is allowed to touch.
