Adcon Crest Contracting Private Limited is located right next to the Adcon Tower in Kaimanam. The address is TC 64/44(1) and it’s a spot we’ve grown quite fond of over the years here in Thiruvananthapuram. The office is often full of the smell of rain and old paper. We have a lot of site boots sitting by the door and yellow hard hats hanging on the pegs. It’s a contracting office, so it’s never perfectly clean; there is always a bit of dust or some sand that someone tracked in from a site visit. We spend a lot of time looking at blueprints spread out over the biggest table we could find. Our chairs squeak a bit when you move, and the light flickers occasionally, but it’s our space. We talk a lot about labor, materials, and how the weather is going to affect the pouring of concrete. It’s not a place for fancy suits or polished speeches. We wear regular clothes and speak plainly to one another. Sometimes things go wrong and we have to spend the whole day fixing a mistake, but that's just how contracting goes. We know the local shopkeepers and the guys who drive the trucks. It’s a community-based way of working and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just show up every morning and do what needs to be done.
