Aswini Farm 2 Home is based over in the Ayappakkam area, specifically at unit number 8426 within the TNHB housing complex. Chennai is a massive city, but this little corner feels more like a regular neighborhood where everyone knows each other. We started this business because we noticed there was a big gap between what happens out at the farm and what eventually reaches people’s homes. Our setup is not fancy at all. We spend a significant amount of our time moving heavy crates and making sure that everything gets to where it needs to go on time. Being located in a TNHB block means we are constantly surrounded by families, which feels appropriate for the kind of work we do. The early mornings are definitely when we are at our busiest. Sometimes it feels like we are constantly running a few minutes behind, but somehow the work always gets done by the end of the shift. We do not have a big, air-conditioned office with fancy leather chairs or glass walls. It is much more about the practical, hands-on side of things. You might see a little dirt on our shoes or clothes if you meet us during the day. That is just part of the job when you are working with farms. We do not talk much about grand visions or strategy. We just focus on what is ready today and what needs to be moved tomorrow. It is hard work.
