Our setup is a bit different because we operate out of Renganathan’s place in Vallam. It’s 249 West Street, right in the heart of the village. Being the son of Aathimoolam, Renganathan has deep roots here, and that’s how Pullinangaal Organic Farmer Producer Company really works. We aren't in some big city office. We are right where the farmers are. Most days you’ll find a few of us sitting on the porch talking about the weather or the soil. It’s a very informal way of doing business, but it works for us. We know everyone in Vallam. The West Street is where we meet and plan the season. We don't use big words or have fancy presentations. We just look at the crops and see what needs to be done. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and finish our conversations. It’s a simple life. We care about the organic side of things because it’s better for our own land. There’s no big marketing budget here. We just put in the hours and hope for a good rain. If you’re looking for us, just ask anyone in the village for Renganathan’s house. It’s the one with the busy yard and usually a tractor or two nearby. We are just local people trying to make farming work for the long haul. Vallam is a quiet place, and we like that it's far from the city buzz. Renganathan’s house is always open for a talk when the sun goes down.
