Ramakrishna Vidyalaya Primary School

Our school, Ramakrishna Vidyalaya Primary School, is located way out in Narayanthevanpatti. If you are driving along the Sh102 or the Palayam Surlipatti Road, you will eventually come across us. Theni is a beautiful area, but it can be quite a long way from the bigger cities. The school sits right there in the Cumbum region. It’s a primary school, so we mostly deal with the younger crowd from the surrounding farms and houses. The address is a bit of a mouthful, but once you are here, it’s easy to find. We have a pretty standard building with several classrooms and a central area where everyone gathers in the morning. Being near the main road means we hear the trucks and buses passing by quite often, which can be a bit loud during lessons. The kids are used to it, though. We spend our days teaching the basics and making sure everyone stays on track. The playground is mostly just dirt and some grass, but it’s plenty of space for the children to play during their breaks. It feels like a very traditional place, not much has changed in the way we do things over the years. We keep the doors open to let the breeze in because it gets quite warm in this part of Theni. It’s a humble place, just a simple primary school serving the families around Narayanthevanpatti and Cumbum. We just do our work and go home.
