Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Limited

Our place is located in Varadaraj Nagar, right near the Vaigai Dam in the Theni District. Being so close to the dam is useful for the water, and the scenery is nice, though we’re usually too busy to look at it during the day. Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Limited is a big part of the local scene here. We work with a lot of the sugar cane farmers from around the district. During the crushing season, the roads are full of tractors bringing in the harvest. It gets very noisy and a bit sticky with all the sugar in the air. We also have the chemical side of things, which is more about the processing after the cane is pressed. It’s a lot of hard work and long shifts when the crop is coming in. The factory has been here for a long time, and many people from the nearby villages work with us. We don't have a polished corporate headquarters; it's mostly industrial buildings and storage tanks. Sometimes the weather affects how much we can produce, especially if the monsoon is late. We just deal with those problems as they come. We aren't doing anything fancy, just turning cane into sugar and handling the byproducts. It’s what we know how to do. Most of our neighbors are farmers, so we have a good understanding with the community.
