M R Bricks

Located at 48/15 on Periyakulam Road, our brick kiln has been a part of the Aranmanaiputhur landscape for some time. We aren't a big operation by any means. It’s just M R Bricks, a name we picked and stuck with. Most days start before the sun is even fully up because that is the best time to get things moving before the heat gets too bad. Periyakulam Road stays pretty busy with tractors and lorries, and we are right in the thick of it. The ground here is always stained red from the clay. We spend our time mixing, molding, and waiting for things to dry. It isn't a fast process and you can't really rush it or the bricks won't be any good. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If you come by, you'll probably find one of us covered in dirt near the kilns. We just talk to people directly. No sales pitches, just telling you what we have in the stack. Sometimes the quality of the clay changes a bit, but we do our best with what the earth gives us. We’ve had customers who have been coming to us since we first opened the gates. It’s a simple way to make a living, even if our backs ache at the end of the day. We are just local people making something that people need to build their homes. We don't overthink it, we just keep the fires burning.
