Our little operation is located at 94, Kanniyampatti. It's a rural spot, surrounded by fields and a few other small businesses. We’ve been here for a good while, and the place has a bit of a worn-in look. There are stacks of bricks everywhere you look, some ready to go and some still drying out. The ground is uneven, so you have to watch your step when you’re walking around. We don't have many employees, just a few reliable guys who show up every morning. We start when the sun comes up and we usually finish when it gets too dark to see what we're doing. Kanniyampatti is a quiet place, but we get plenty of visitors looking for materials for their homes or farm buildings. We handle everything ourselves, from the mixing to the loading. It’s hard on the body, especially in the summer heat. We usually have a big pot of water under the shade of the neem tree for anyone who needs a drink. There’s no big sign out front, just the gate and the sound of the tractor. We don't do any big advertising because word of mouth in this area is enough. If you do a decent job, people tell their cousins and neighbors. That’s how we’ve stayed in business. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep the stacks moving out so we have room for more.
