Rj Foods

Rj Foods is up in Ooty, specifically in the Kandal area on Pophe Street. We actually use two spots, number 100 and number 13. It’s a bit of a walk between them but it works for what we do. The air up here is always a bit chilly, which is nice when you're working around food. We’ve been in Kandal for quite some time. It’s a tight-knit neighborhood. We aren't some big factory. It’s just us and a couple of helpers from the local area. We spend most of our time prepping and packing things up. The stairs in the old building are a bit narrow and they creak when you walk on them. We don't have any fancy machines, just basic stuff that gets the job done. Sometimes the fog rolls in so thick you can barely see the street from the window. We like the quiet pace of life here. People know where to find us if they need something. We don’t spend money on advertising. Word of mouth is how most people hear about Rj Foods. We’re usually here from early morning until late afternoon. Sometimes we close early if the weather gets too bad. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep things moving in Ooty. The old tea kettle is always whistling in the back room and someone is usually wearing a sweater even in the summer.
