Mac Foods

You can find Mac Foods at 28 Mount Road. It’s an old building, and we've been using this space for a while now. The kitchen area is where most of the action happens. It’s always warm in there, and there’s usually a mix of different smells depending on what we are preparing that day. We started out small and just stayed that way mostly. We have a few tables out front, but a lot of people just take their things to go. The floor is a bit uneven in places, but we've gotten used to it. We don't have a big menu or anything fancy. We just make the things we know how to make well. The staff is mostly family or friends from the neighborhood. We don't use any high-tech systems for ordering. Just a notepad and a pen works fine for us. Sometimes we run out of certain items early in the afternoon if it’s been a busy day. Mount Road is always busy, so there is no shortage of people passing by. We keep the windows open to let the steam out. The walls have some old photos of the street from years ago. We aren't trying to be a chain or anything like that. We just like cooking and seeing the regular faces who come in every day for their lunch. It’s a humble place, but it works for us. We just need to fix the overhead light in the back soon.
