Rajesh Store

We’ve been here at 94, Tiruvidaimarudur for quite a while now. Most mornings start around seven when the shutters go up and the dust gets swept out toward the street. Rajesh Store is just a regular place where people stop by when they need something quick for the kitchen or the house. It isn't a fancy setup. The shelves are mostly full of the usual things like pulses, oils, and some snacks that kids like. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late and things get a bit messy with boxes piled up near the door, but we manage. People from the neighborhood know us by name, and we know who prefers which brand of tea. There is a small desk in the corner where the accounts get scribbled down in a notebook. It gets hot in the afternoons, so the fan stays on high speed most of the time. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us making sure everything is in its place. When the festival season comes, it gets a bit more crowded, and we have to move faster to keep up. Otherwise, it’s a steady pace here. We just keep the lights on and wait for the regulars to drop in for their daily bits and pieces. It's a simple life running a shop in this part of town, nothing too complicated about how we do things every day.
