Pandian Metals & Furniture

Pandian Metals & Furniture is located at 234, Palakkarai Kabisthalam. It's a solid, practical place. We focus mostly on making furniture that lasts. Metal beds, cupboards, and chairs are what we handle mostly. The workshop is a bit noisy with all the welding and cutting going on. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. Most of our items are lined up against the walls or sitting out in the yard. It's a very hands-on business. If you come in, you'll see us with our sleeves rolled up. We don't spend much time on fancy talk. We just show you what we have or tell you if we can make what you need. The floor is usually covered in metal scraps and iron filings. We try to keep it clean, but it's a constant battle. The sun gets pretty hot in Palakkarai, so the metal gets warm to the touch by midday. We take our lunch under the shade of the big tree outside. It's a simple operation. We don't have a lot of office staff. It's mainly just the people making the furniture and one person to handle the money and the orders. We’ve been here for years, and most people in the village know where to find us if they need a sturdy bed or a gate made. We just keep things moving at our own pace.
