Our place is at 992 in Auto Nagar, right along Chennai Salai. We are in the Melacauvery area of Kumbakonam, which is part of the Thanjore district. Being in Auto Nagar means we are surrounded by a lot of other businesses that do practical, hands-on work. It is a dusty area and there is always the sound of engines or tools in the background. D E E E has been running from this spot for a while now. The shop is not fancy at all. We have our tools, some old benches, and a lot of parts lying around. It is a working environment, so it is not the cleanest place you will ever see. We don't have a big sign out front, just enough for people to know it's us. Most of our customers are locals or people driving through on Chennai Salai who need something looked at. We don't do any big promotions or anything like that. We just look at the job, tell you what we can do, and then get to it. It is a long day usually, and we are often covered in grease by the time we close up. But it is good work and it keeps us busy. We like being part of the Kumbakonam community. It is a straightforward way to make a living, and we don't feel the need to make it sound like anything more than what it is.
