Sundarban Bengal Betel Exporter is located at Shankar Niwas, right on City Thana Road. It is a busy area and the noise from the street usually starts quite early in the morning. We have been working out of this spot for a long time now. Our main thing is betel leaves. We get them from the local farmers and then we spend the day sorting them and getting them ready to be sent out. It is not a very fancy operation. We have tables set up where we check the quality of every leaf because they can be quite delicate. Bengal has always been known for good betel, so we just try to keep that going. The office in Shankar Niwas is mostly filled with crates and packing materials. It gets a bit crowded during the peak season when there are leaves everywhere. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just a few of us making sure the orders are filled and the trucks are loaded on time. Sometimes the traffic on City Thana Road makes things difficult for the pickups, but we have gotten used to the chaos. The smell of the fresh leaves is always in the air here. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise until the evening. We just do our job and hope the weather stays good for the crops.
