If you’re coming to see us at Simla Sneh, we’re right by the railway overbridge in Nallasopara. You can’t really miss the sound of the trains going by every few minutes. It’s a bit noisy, but it’s part of the background noise for us now. We work with milk, which means our days start very early, usually while most people are still asleep. By the time the sun is actually up, we’ve already been busy for hours. The floor is usually wet from the cleaning, and there are crates stacked up everywhere. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear your best clothes. We just focus on getting the milk processed and out to the vendors. It’s a fast-paced environment because you can’t exactly let the product sit around for too long. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the local traffic, which causes a bit of stress, but we make it work. The office is just a corner with a couple of old desks and a computer that’s seen better days. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a front desk person to greet you. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and helps you out. It’s a local operation, run by people who live nearby. We don’t think too much about being corporate; we just want to make sure the milk gets where it needs to go every single morning without fail.
