Our shop, Shanta Durga Medical And General Stores, is located on M.G. Road in Thane West, right near the Telephone Exchange. It is a busy part of the city, and we sit close to the Horizon Hospital and the Malati Mohan Bunglow. If you know the Naupada area, you have probably walked past our doors more than once. Being right opposite Naupada means there is constant movement and noise outside. We deal with all kinds of medical supplies and the usual general items people need for their homes. The building has been around for a while, and the shop has that lived-in feel. It gets a bit crowded during the evening when everyone is out on M.G. Road. We see a lot of people coming in after visiting the nearby hospital. The space is not very large, so we have to be clever with how we stack the boxes. Sometimes the stock arrives and sits near the door for a bit while we sort it out. That is just how a local business works. We know many of the regulars who live in the Thane-Thane area. We do not do anything fancy or have any big slogans. It is just a straightforward place where we try to keep the shelves full and the lights on for the community.
