Novartis India Ltd. Otc. is tucked away in Mumbra, Thane, specifically at A/4/403 in the Bhima Venue Apartment building. It is located right behind Jayshree Park on His Holiness Marg in the Anandkoliwada area. Working out of an apartment building means things are a bit different than a big corporate office block. We have the usual office stuff like printers and filing cabinets squeezed into the rooms. The area around Mumbra is always packed with people and the streets are quite narrow, so getting to the building can be a bit of a challenge if you are driving a large car. We mostly handle the over-the-counter side of things here, so there is a lot of tracking of medicine batches and talking to distributors on the phone. The building has a bit of a walk up to the fourth floor, which keeps us moving. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day, kids playing downstairs and the local vendors shouting their prices. It is a very lived-in place, not sterile or quiet at all. We have tea together in the small kitchen area when things get a bit slow in the afternoon. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out. It is a humble setup for a big name, but we manage to get all the logistics and paperwork sorted out from this corner of Maharashtra without too much trouble.
