Shaikh Paan Shop

Shaikh Paan Shop is right there at the Mithakhali Circle in Junnar. We sit right on the Mumbai Pune Road, so as you can imagine, it is a very loud and busy place to be. There are trucks and buses going past at all hours of the day and night. The circle itself is always a bit chaotic with traffic coming from all directions. We are usually here from early morning until late, watching the cars go by. It’s a small shop, just enough space for us to stand and keep all our jars and supplies within reach. You get used to the smell of the diesel and the dust from the road after a while. Most of the people who stop by are just passing through on their way to Pune or Mumbai, so they are usually in a hurry. We don’t have much time for long chats, but we see a lot of different people. Junnar is a good place to be, even with all the noise. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and making sure everything looks decent for the next person who pulls over. It’s a simple life, standing by the circle and keeping the shop running. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons, so we have to stay in the shade as much as possible. That is just the daily routine for us here.
