Rajasthan Mines & Minerals

Our office is up on the 7th floor of Proviso Tower, right on Plot No.14 in Navi Mumbai. It’s a bit of a climb if the elevator is acting up, which happens more often than we’d like. From up here, we manage the moving of stuff for various mining operations. Rajasthan Mines & Minerals isn't actually in Rajasthan, obviously, but that's where a lot of the material comes from. We spend our days on the phone with site managers and transport companies. There are maps pinned to the walls and samples of rocks sitting on the windowsills. The office is usually pretty quiet, except for the tapping of keyboards and the occasional loud conversation about a late truck. We’ve got a small pantry where we make way too much tea during the day. It’s mostly paperwork and coordination work that keeps us busy from nine to six. We don’t really have customers walking in off the street because of the location, so it’s mostly scheduled meetings and long-distance calls. Navi Mumbai is a fast-growing area, and being in this tower gives us a good view of all the new buildings going up around us. We’ve been here for a few years and have settled into a comfortable routine. It’s just a regular office job dealing with the earth’s resources. We keep things moving and try not to get too stressed when things go sideways.
