Kumar Ice Cream

We are over at Shop No.3 in the Bajranj Niwas building. Most people find us by looking for the Old Rto or the Gurdev Hotel in Kalyan West. It's a busy little corner of the world. Kumar Ice Cream has been here for a while, serving the local crowd and the shoppers. The shop is small, so it's mostly a grab-and-go situation for most people. We have a few chairs outside sometimes if the weather is okay and it's not too crowded. We spend a lot of time checking the inventory and making sure the machines are running right. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do for a living. The area gets pretty crowded in the afternoons, especially with students and office workers walking around. We try to keep things simple and honest. No big speeches or complicated menus here. You just pick what you want and that’s it. My brother and I run the place mostly, with a little help during the peak summer months when it's really hot. We’ve had some repairs done recently to the flooring, so it looks a bit better now than it used to. It’s just a neighborhood shop trying to stay busy and provide what the locals like. We like being part of Kalyan West. It feels like home to us, and we know most of the neighbors by name now. It's a nice feeling when people stop to chat while they are eating their ice cream.
