Down in Maharashtra, specifically in Dist Thane, we are set up at D4 126 in the Century Rayon Colony. This place has a very specific feel because it’s a colony near the Post Shahad area. It’s a bit of a trek from the main parts of Mumbai, but we like the relative quiet here. The air feels different than it does in the city center. Our office is more like a workspace where we handle the international side of things, though you wouldn't know it from looking at the building. It’s a practical space. We have our desks, some filing cabinets that have seen better days, and a lot of phone calls to make. Being in a colony means we know the security guards and the local shopkeepers by name. It’s a community. Sometimes the trains at Shahad station are delayed, which messes with our morning, but we just adjust and start a bit later. We aren't into the corporate polish you see in the big glass towers in the city. Here, it’s about the actual work. We deal with various logistics and paperwork all day long. The office can get a bit humid, especially during the monsoon season, but we keep the fans going. It’s a steady life in Shahad, and we’ve made this little corner of Thane our own. We just focus on the day’s tasks and getting home before it gets too dark or rainy.
