Jitendra Vishwakarma

Jitendra Vishwakarma is based near the Valmiki Temple in Gandhi Nagar. Even though the pincode says 400606, we’re listed here in Tamil Nadu as per our address details. It’s a bit of an unusual spot, being so close to the temple. You can always hear the bells ringing and the sounds of people coming and going for their daily prayers. It gives the whole area a specific kind of energy that you don't find everywhere else. The office itself is nothing to write home about. It’s just a small room with enough space for a desk and some chairs for visitors. Gandhi Nagar is a busy little area, and we fit right in with the other small shops and local houses on the street. We don't have a big sign or any flashing lights. People just know where we are through friends or neighbors. I spend a lot of time on the phone or just organizing the various papers that come in. The heat in Tamil Nadu can be a lot to handle, but the large trees near the temple provide a bit of shade in the afternoons. It’s a simple life here for us. We aren't looking to expand into some giant corporation with hundreds of offices. We just want to do our daily tasks well and keep the local folks satisfied with our work. Sometimes the street gets blocked during big festivals, which slows things down, but that’s just life near a temple. We just wait it out and start again the next morning. It’s home for us.
