Freshwater Turtles And Tortoises Foundation

We set up the foundation in Thane, right across from Lok Hospital in the Tata Housing complex. It’s a bit of a specific thing to focus on, but turtles and tortoises really need the help. Most people don't think about freshwater species much, so we decided to make it our main thing. Our office is in Alamanda 124, and it’s usually filled with papers and maps. We aren't doing this for the fame or anything; we just saw that these animals were losing their homes and wanted to do something practical about it. Thane has changed a lot over the years, and the local environment has taken a hit. We spend our days tracking where these creatures are and trying to make sure the water they live in stays okay. It’s not glamorous work. There is a lot of waiting and a lot of data entry. We are just a small group of people who know a lot about shells and slow-moving reptiles. We try to keep things simple here. No big corporate meetings, just us figuring out the best way to help a turtle get back to a safe spot. It’s a bit of a niche job, but someone has to do it. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and the neighbors are used to us talking about reptiles all the time. It’s just what we do every day without much fuss or any big complicated plans.
