Ashok B Jain

My name is Ashok B Jain and I’ve been working out of Goregaon West for many years now. This part of Mumbai is always moving, and my small office is right in the middle of it. It’s not a big corporate space, just a room where I handle my business and meet with people. I usually get in around ten and stay until the work is finished. Sometimes that means late nights when the traffic outside finally starts to quiet down. I handle most of the things myself, but I have someone who helps with the typing and the phone calls. The building is older, so the elevator is a bit slow, but it works fine. Most of my clients are people I’ve known for a long time. We sit down, have some tea, and talk about what needs to be done. I don’t believe in having a lot of fancy furniture or a big reception area. It’s just me and my desk. People know they can find me here if they need something sorted out. Goregaon has changed a lot with all the new buildings, but my way of doing things hasn’t changed much. I prefer keeping track of things on paper first before putting them into the computer. It feels safer that way. Life here is busy, but I like the rhythm of it. It’s just a simple office for a simple business, and that is how I like to keep it.
