Aarti Industries

Our place at Aarti Industries is at the 1-Arwind Brothers Compound, right near the Indal Company in Ganpati Pada. It’s an old industrial area, and you can tell by the way the buildings look. We’ve been in this compound for years, and we’ve seen a lot of neighbors come and go. The work we do here is pretty straightforward, mostly just manufacturing stuff day in and day out. It’s hot in the summer because the ventilation isn't the best, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through. You can hear the noise from the other shops in the compound all day long. My office is just a small partitioned space with a desk that’s seen better days. We don't really do much in the way of marketing or anything like that; people just know we’re here and they call us when they need something. Most of our workers live nearby, so they walk or bike in every morning. We’ve got a routine that works for us, even if it’s a bit old-fashioned. There’s always a bit of a mess on the floor, metal scraps or packing material, but we clean it up at the end of every shift. It’s just regular work for regular people. We try not to overcomplicate things. If the machines are running and the orders are moving out the door, then it’s a good enough day for us.
