Our place, Chiral Organics Pvt. Ltd., is situated at E-36/1 in the MIDC area of Tarapur. Like most businesses in this industrial zone, our setup is built for function rather than looks. We have the production area and a small office space where we keep track of the batches we’re working on. It’s often loud outside with the trucks and other factories running, but we’re used to the constant hum of the estate. The walls in the office could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’ve been too busy with the actual work to worry about that. We deal with organic compounds, so we have to be pretty careful with how everything is handled and stored. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a tie; it’s more about boots and keeping things clean and safe. The commute out to Tarapur can be long for some of us, but this is where the infrastructure is for what we do. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to polish up how we sound. We’re just a group of people who know how to run the equipment and get the orders filled. Most of our days are spent checking gauges and making sure the supplies arrived. It’s honest work and we just get on with it, even when the heat in the plant gets a bit intense.
