Crescent Nursery & Primary School

Crescent Nursery & Primary School is located at No 33 B-3, Pump House Road in Shencottah. We are very close to the Sengottai Railway Station, so we often hear the whistles and the rumbling of the trains as they pull in and out. It’s a sound we have all gotten used to over the years. The school itself is a simple place meant for the younger children in the community. Being near the station means it's easy for parents to find us. The classrooms are basic, with posters on the walls showing alphabets and animals. We have a small courtyard where the children gather for their morning prayers before the classes start. Shencottah is a beautiful area, but it can be quite humid, so the ceiling fans are always going. The teachers are local people who know the kids and their parents by name. We don't have a big fancy office for the principal, just a desk near the entrance where we keep all the files and the school bell. Sometimes, if the rain is heavy, it makes a lot of noise on the roof and we have to talk a bit louder. It’s a modest school without any big frills. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the kids are safe until their parents come to pick them up in the afternoon. It’s just a normal part of life on Pump House Road. We keep the gate locked until the final bell rings for the day.
