About Guru Nanak Public School Ruriwala – Education in Tarn Taran
If you go out to Ruriwala Village in the Chohla Sahib part of Amritsar, you will find our school. Guru Nanak Public School Ruriwala is a local place that serves the families living in this rural area. Most of the kids who come here are from the nearby farms, so they arrive with dusty shoes and a lot of energy. The building itself is quite modest and sits among the fields. We have a few classrooms for the different grades, and they are mostly filled with simple benches and chalkboards. It is not the kind of place with air conditioning or big computer labs. We just focus on the textbooks and making sure the children understand what they are reading. The morning starts with a quiet assembly, and then the whole place gets noisy with the sound of lessons. The teachers here are local folks too, so everyone knows whose child is whose. We have a bit of a garden area, but it takes a lot of work to keep it tidy when the rain comes and makes everything muddy. It can be a challenge to keep everything running smoothly, especially when the power goes out, but we manage. We just want the kids to get their basic schooling done so they have a chance at a better future. It is a humble setup, but it is what the village has, and we do our best with what we have got.
