Laxmi Traders

Operating out of Kadodra Highway isn’t the quietest job. Laxmi Traders is right near the Mahindra showroom, so you can’t really miss it if you’re driving by. The noise from the trucks is constant, but you get used to it after a while. We spend a lot of time handling various goods that come and go. The dust from the highway comes in through the door, so we spend a good chunk of the morning just cleaning off the counters. It’s a practical space. We have a small office area and a larger section for the supplies. There’s no air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that rattle a bit. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to people who stop their trucks nearby. We don’t do anything flashy. We just make sure the orders are right and the bills are paid. Sometimes the heat gets pretty bad in the afternoon, so we take turns grabbing cold water from the fridge. The showroom next door brings in a lot of people, and occasionally they wander into our place by mistake. We just give them directions. It’s a busy life here on the highway. We keep the gates open until late evening. It’s not complicated, just a lot of moving parts and heavy lifting. We like the rhythm of it.
