Makaem Farmer Producer Company Limited is based up in Tamenglong. We are located care of Ramkung Pamei. If you know this part of Manipur, you know it’s a lot of hills and can be quite hard to reach if the weather is bad. We are a farmer producer company, which means we are really just a group of local growers coming together. There isn't a big office building here. We mostly meet at the house or in the fields to talk about the crops and how we are going to sell them. Life in the Tamenglong subdivision is slow and follows the seasons. We deal with whatever the earth gives us. It’s a lot of hard work, mostly physical, and the paperwork usually gets done late at night by a single lamp. We don’t have marketing experts or fancy logos.
