Vela Arts & Creations

Our shop is at 506 Vealachery Main Road, right in the East Tambaram area of Chennai. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always the sound of horns and buses passing by. We started this place because we wanted a spot to sell our things. It’s not a huge corporation, just a local shop where we handle everything ourselves. The humidity in Chennai is always there, so we try to keep the shop cool for whoever comes in. We have a mix of different things on the shelves, mostly clothes and some other bits and pieces. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and making sure the floor is swept. It’s just a normal part of the day. We don't have a website that we update all the time or any fancy slogans. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the day to start. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days everyone comes in at once. We like the neighborhood here in East Tambaram. People stop by on their way home from the station. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just Vela Arts & Creations, a simple place on a busy road. There is always something to do, even if it is just rearranging items so they look decent.
