We are located at No 3 in Gandhi Nagar, right beside the Sivan Temple here in Avadi. Being next to the temple means it’s usually pretty peaceful, except during the festival days when it gets really crowded and loud with music and bells. Dhivya Swarangal is our small setup where we focus on music and related things. It isn't a huge studio with soundproofing on every wall, but it’s our space and it works for what we do. We have a few instruments lying around and some benches for people to sit. We started this because we wanted a place in Avadi where people could come and just be around music without it being a big, formal thing. Sometimes we are teaching, other times we are just practicing ourselves. The walls have some old posters on them and the floor is a bit worn from all the feet coming in and out. We don't really follow a strict corporate schedule. If someone stops by to ask a question, we usually end up chatting for a while. It’s that kind of place. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks or big promises. We just like what we do. Most of our students live just a few streets away. It’s nice being part of the local scene here. When the temple prayers start, we usually take a break and listen. It gives the whole day a good rhythm. It is a simple life and we like it that way. No big goals, just music in the neighborhood.
