Vacha Fine Arts started at C 4 in Ambattur Industrial Estate quite some time back. It's a busy industrial area, so there’s always noise and movement outside from the factories nearby, but inside the unit we just focus on the art. People sometimes ask why an art place is located here in an industrial estate, but the space really works for us. We have enough room to get the frames and canvases done without being too cramped. Mostly we are busy with orders and making sure everything looks okay before it goes out to the customer. Sometimes the dust from the surrounding estate is a bit much, but we keep the workspace clean enough. It’s just a few of us here. We don't have a fancy showroom with spotlights and expensive carpets. It's more of a workshop really. You’ll see finished frames and raw canvases leaning against the walls in most corners. We take our time with the work because rushing it doesn't help anyone. Some days are slow and we just look at what we've finished, and other days are a total rush. It’s a good way to earn a living, doing something with your hands. My desk is usually covered in pens, scraps of paper, and tape. We’ve been at this address for a while now and the local folks know where to find us. If you’re coming from the main road, it’s not too hard to spot once you get into the industrial estate.
