Hemas Beauty Parlour

We started this shop here in Kodungaiyur at Sujatha Plaza. It is on the first block of the building. We are quite close to the Bhavani Amman Temple, so people usually find us easily enough by using that as a landmark. Usually, we start the day by sweeping out the entrance and getting the towels ready for the first people who come in. It is not a huge place, but it works for the people who live around here. Some days it gets pretty busy when there are festivals or functions at the temple nearby. We just try to keep things tidy and make sure everyone gets their turn without waiting too long in the heat. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside on the plastic chairs and talk for a bit until it comes back. It is a local spot. Most of the ladies who come in live just a few streets away. We know their names and what they usually want done without them having to say much. The plaza has a few other shops, so there is always someone coming and going. It is just how things are around here. We do not have fancy lights or anything like that, just what we need to do the work. The mirrors have been here since we first opened. Sometimes the traffic outside gets a bit loud, especially in the evenings. But we like being part of this neighborhood. It feels comfortable and familiar to us.
