Sri Laxmi Ganapathi Poultry Faroum

Out here in Bhagath Singh Nagar, at H No 1-8-54/5/1, we run the Sri Laxmi Ganapathi Poultry Faroum. Being in Ward No 8 means we are part of a busy little community. A poultry farm is a lot of work that never really stops. The birds don't care if it's a holiday or a Sunday. They need feeding and checking on every single morning. We wake up when it's still dark to get things started. There is a lot of cleaning and making sure the water is right. It smells like a farm, which is something you just get used to after a few days. We sell what we produce to the local markets and people who come by the gate. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just focus on keeping the chickens healthy. My family helps out with the daily tasks. It’s a lot of lifting bags of feed and checking temperatures. Sometimes things go wrong, like a pipe leaks or the feed delivery is late, and we just have to fix it ourselves. We've been in this spot for a good while. People around here know us as the place to get eggs or birds. It’s honest work. We aren't trying to grow into some massive corporation. We just want to do a good job in our corner of Ward No 8. It keeps us on our toes every day.
