Flavaroma Flavours Fragrances Pvt. Ltd. is based at Plot No. 1704/2 in Phase 4 of the G I D C. Unlike some of the metal shops nearby, our place smells a lot different. We deal with various scents and flavorings, so you might smell something sweet or fruity when you walk near our building. We have a lot of drums and glass bottles stored in the warehouse area. It’s a bit of a mix between a laboratory and a warehouse. We have to be careful with the measurements, so it’s a bit quieter here than in a heavy engineering shop. The people working here spend a lot of time checking labels and mixing things according to the recipes we have. We’ve been in this phase of the GIDC for some time now and it’s a good spot for us. We don’t have a big sales pitch or a fancy lobby. It’s mostly just shelves full of ingredients and workers in lab coats or aprons. We focus on getting the scents right and making sure the bottles are sealed properly before they get packed into crates. It’s a steady kind of work. We don't really do a lot of talking; we just focus on the smells and the scales. It's a bit of a different world inside compared to the dusty roads outside in the industrial estate. We spend our days making sure every batch matches what it's supposed to be. The machines we use for mixing aren't too loud, but they run almost all day long. We keep a close eye on the temperature in the storage area too, because some of these liquids don't like the heat.
